Special opening for the Royal Palace in Genova!

For the International Day of Tourist Guide, last Feb. 20th, have been organized in several Italian cities some very special guided visits to our Heritage: in Genova, for this occasion, has been decided to open a particular part of the famous Royal Palace, never opened before (it will be re-opened only within 3 years, when the renovation works will be ultimate).

So, we had the pleasure to make a short visit to the Royal Palace too, walking through some of its most beautiful halls like the “Battles Hall”, the “Peace Hall” and the “Chapel Gallery” before getting to the wonderful “Mirrors’ Hall”, planned and built like that one in Fontainebleau (France).

But, as we said at the beginning, the real aim of this visit was to show to the public a new part of the Palace: the “Sala delle Dame” (Young Ladies Hall). This hall has been opened for the first time in this occasion: this was the hall where the young ladies from the Genoese high society met each other and they were tasked to keep company to the Queen of Savoia Royal Family during her visit in Genova.

Today, the Hall is the home of the Soprintendenza per i Beni Culturali (local heritage board) but very soon it will be fully renovated and only within 3 years is planned its reopening: this time for the public, definitely.
